Published on 15 Jul 2020

Institut nordique du Québec (INQ) and Sentinel North (SN) announce funding for five additional projects under its Building a Sustainable North Partnership Research Program. A total of $1.5 million was awarded in this second call for proposals for inter-institutional and multidisciplinary projects that will generate new knowledge about the North and the Arctic, with a view to the sustainable development of Northern Quebec and the well-being of the communities that inhabit this territory.

An impartial selection committee composed of INQ partners, researchers with varied expertise and representatives of northern communities was responsible the detailed evaluation of the 14 applications deemed eligible for submission to the call, which was launched in February 2020.

These five new projects, of three-years in duration, will begin in the coming weeks and are in addition to the two projects previously funded under the Building a Sustainable North Partnership Research Program. Congratulations to the five research teams that received funding. We look forward to following the progress of your research.
