The Arctic is facing important changes. These are caused, on one hand, by the warming of the climate, and, on the other hand, by a strong growth of the industrialization of the North.

Section 1

CLIMATE

The whole Earth is warming, but it is in the Arctic that we observe the strongest increase in average temperature. The North is therefore subject to accelerated changes compared to the rest of the planet.

Section 2

INDUSTRIALIZATION

With a projected 25% of the total natural gas and oil resources in the Arctic, industrial exploration is booming in northern regions. Adding to this the increase in maritime traffic and the trending polar tourism, the Arctic is experiencing a strong industrialization that impacts the environment and the people who live there.
