Program objectives

An international scholarship program is available to international students for an internship in the laboratories of Université Laval researchers participating in research projects funded by Sentinel North's research program. Through this program, Sentinel North seeks to attract new talent, foster the development of young international scientists able to tackle and help resolve complex northern issues, and encourage the sharing of knowledge and experience across borders.

Program objectives

The purpose of this fund is to enable graduate students to attend high-level international schools (training workshops, specialized summer/winter masterclasses) whose topics are aligned with Sentinel North's research program. Recognizing the value of such training, Sentinel North wishes through this program to foster the development of a new generation of young scientists able to tackle and help resolve complex northern issues, and encourage the sharing of knowledge and experience across borders.

Arctic Change 2017 conference

Sentinel North invites all students and young researchers involved in its research activities to meet on Tuesday, November 21 at 3 pm in room 2326 of the Alphonse-Desjardins building to lay the foundation for the Sentinel North Young Investigators Association.

This meeting will be an opportunity to bring out ideas and initiatives on transdisciplinarity, training and animation of this community. Students of all cycles and postdoctoral fellows involved in Sentinel North research projects from all disciplines and research centers are expected.

The purpose of the Sentinel North postdoctoral fellowships is to encourage Ph.D. graduates to further their training and carry out research activities within Sentinel North’s research program in transdisciplinary and scientifically stimulating environments.

There are various eligible fields of research. Outstanding graduates who stand out for the excellence of their academic record, as well as for the innovative and multidisciplinary potential of their research project, are invited to apply.

The aim of the Sentinel North Ph.D. scholarships is to encourage top applicants to undertake or pursue their research and training in a transdisciplinary environment.

There are various eligible fields of research. Outstanding students who have excellent academic records and research proposals with innovative, multidisciplinary potential are invited to apply.
